Belton is a town/city in Cass County, Missouri, and part of the Kansas City urbane area.

Belton was platted in 1871. The town/city was likely titled for surveyor Capt.

As of the census of 2013, there were 23,175 citizens , 8,623 homeholds, and 6,083 families residing in the city.
