Eminence is positioned in the center of the Ozark National Scenic Riverways, Missouri's biggest national park and the nation's first protected river system.
According to the United States Enumeration Bureau, the town/city has a total region of 1.88 square miles (4.87 km2), all of it land. There were 254 homeholds of which 28.7% had kids under the age of 18 living with them, 35.8% were married couples living together, 11.4% had a female homeholder with no husband present, 7.9% had a male homeholder with no wife present, and 44.9% were non-families.
24.5% of inhabitants were under the age of 18; 9.7% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 19.3% were from 25 to 44; 28.5% were from 45 to 64; and 18% were 65 years of age or older.
There were 256 homeholds, of which 19.9% encompassed kids of 18 or severaler years, 44.5% comprised married couples living together, 7.8% encompassed a female homeholder with no husband present, and 44.5% were non-families.
In the city, the populace comprised 19.5% under the age of 18, 7.5% aged from 18 to 24, 25.9% aged from 25 to 44, 22.3% aged from 45 to 64, and 24.8% of 65 or more years of age.
Approximately 23.8% of families and 31.4% of the populace as a whole were classified as living below the poverty line, including 41.7% of those aged 18 years or younger, and 21.7% of those aged 65 years or older.
Eminence is accessed from Missouri Route 19 and Missouri Route 106.
In 1981 Eminence High School won the Missouri Class 1 - A-2 - A volleyball state championship. In 2011 Eminence High School won the Missouri Class 1 volleyball state championship. In 2012 Eminence High School won the Missouri Class 1 girls basketball state championship. In 2013 Eminence High School won the Missouri Class 1 boys basketball state championship.
