As of the 2010 census, the town/city had a populace of 10,189. Since 1971, Eureka has been known as the home of the amusement park Six Flags St.

According to the Eureka Chamber of Commerce, barns workers while clearing way for the track and the next barns camp saw Eureka, level territory with little to clear, and declared, "Eureka!" In 1898, Eureka became home to the St.

Eureka was incorporated as a fourth-class town/city on April 7, 1954.

In 1985, it was took in by the town/city of Eureka.
